MOPA Theatre Company was formed in 1997 by Nic Brownlie to provide innovative, entertaining, and educational training through theatre.
Nic identified the need to make effective training less classroom based and more interactive. Now, more than 11 years later, MOPA have worked with thousands of children and adults of all ages and abilities bringing training to life and making the training experience more memorable and enjoyable for all.
Whether it's implementing workplace training solutions with companies such as Direct Line, teaching great pieces of literature by Shakespeare or Steinbeck to teenagers sitting examinations or training bar staff through National Pubwatch Schemes, MOPA have it covered.

Jamie Bell of “Billy Elliott” fame was an original Stagecoach Yarm student and was sent to the Billy Elliott auditions by us. Zoe Birkett of Pop Idol fame was a long-standing student of ours in Darlington. We had children performing in the West End. We are proud of the achievements of students like these, but are equally proud of the smaller triumphs that we see in all our students week by week, as they start to build in confidence, take risks and find out who they are and what they can be
